Denver Dog Training - Need Help with Pet Obedience Training?

Tailwaggerz uses positive reinforcement training techniques which reward dogs rather than punishing them. It’s science based (hat’s off to Pavlov!) and proven. This is generally the preferred method of training among professional dog trainers in the world today. We find amazing results can be achieved using positive reinforcement and love.
It’s not humane to use painful collars that shock or choke, nor are they more effective so we don’t recommend them.

At Tailwaggerz, we like to emphasize three important points when dog training:

Consistency. Everyone in the house is doing the same thing when interacting with their dog.

Repetition. Be prepared to practice things until both you and your dog are getting it.

Patience. Dogs don’t understand our language, but with a little patience you can learn how to “speak” to your dog in a positive way to have them do what you ask.

Classes Offered

Tailwaggerz teaches Puppy, Basic Obedience, Level 2, and Advanced CGC courses. Each course is 6 classes long. Diplomas are awarded at the dog party upon course completion.

Be sure to ask about our “Ninja Dog” training course. Six weeks of you learning how to train with your dog silently, using only hand signals and body language. Ssshhh! No talking. Challenging and fun for you and your dog!

Tailwaggerz also offers a 3 week course called 1-2-3 Sit, Stay & Come! For those who want to brush up on the important stuff, or just reinforce the 3 most essential commands.

Tailwaggerz is a member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers (APDT).

Puppy - $50 /lesson - $200/pre-pay 6 weeks
For dogs under 5 months of age. We'll learn the basics like potty training, puppy socialization, target/touch, the puppy push up, and more.
Basic - $50/lesson- $200/pre pay 6 weeks
For dogs 5 months old and up. Sit, Stay, Come, Heel, etc. We'll also show you some leash walking techniques and games to play.
Level 2- $50/lesson - $200/pre pay 6 weeks
Dogs that have passed Basic or an equivalent and are ready to take it to the next level. We'll be honing our skills at Distance, Duration, and Distractions, and getting your dog ready to go out into the world and be an international hound. Level 2 get's you and your dog started on CGC prep.
Advanced (CGC) - $50/lesson - $200/pre pay 6 weeks
Our advanced class will fully prepare you the Canine Good Citizen test. Tailwaggerz is a certified Canine Good Citizen (CGC) evaluator and can test your dog when you're both ready. CGC testing is available by appointment and costs $25.
Ninja Dog- $50/lesson- $200/pre pay 6 weeks
Ninja Dog class is both challenging and fun! You and your dog will learn all the cues using only body language, hand signals and a clicker. This course offers a basic understanding of the ways that dogs communicate, and gives us two leggers a chance to build a stronger bond between people and pets. Ninja Dog classes start at basic and go right through to CGC. Join us and learn how to "talk" to your dog without ever saying a word.
1-2-3 Sit, Stay & Come - $50/lesson - $100/pre pay 3 weeks
This is a 3 week course that covers 3 of the most important cues you can teach your dog. A sitting dog is a good dog, and if a dog is staying or coming back to you they are staying out of harm's way and at your side. Whether you have been through training and want to brush up your skills on the 'big 3', or you just want to perfect the skills that will allow you and your dog to go more places confidently, this class is it!
